The building
Built around 1890, the Warehouse was the area's produce shipping hub. The railroad reached the village in 1889 and ran right up to it, and it held nearly a million bushels of sweet potatoes. On May 17, 1922, a Fokker monoplane left from here with 800 pounds of asparagus bound for Massachusetts.
